Concept Statement
The Edwards Residence has been completely renovated
and updated to serve all of their functional needs. The hardwood floors have
been restored and remain throughout the home with the exception of marble and tile used in the kitchen and bathroom and commercial
grade carpet installed in the office space that was designed to meet each of Mrs. Edwards needs. The water heater has been upgraded to a larger component as requested.
A master bedroom, two children’s rooms and one guest room has been incorporated into the design as well as a
large kitchen to fulfill Mr. Edwards’s culinary needs. A separate workstation
has been incorporated into the guest room so that Mrs. Edwards can work from inside the residential part of the home. A space was also incorporated into the living area for Mrs. Edward’s basket
collection. The entire home as been remolded in a barrier free design as to accommodate
age in place design as requested. All existing furnishings has been used
as well as additional furniture and accent pieces. The Edward’s accommodated
trenching into their budget so that floor outlets can be used. All of the walls
have been finished with eggshell paint in neutral tones with an exception for the commercial office which has been finished
in commercial grade wall coverings. The kitchen cabinets have been remolded using
mahogany wood. The walls adjacent to the commercial office as well of their son’s bedroom have been constructed with
acoustical walls to eliminate unnecessary noise levels. An eat in kitchen as well as a formal dining and living areas have
been incorporated. A walk-in closet was also incorporated into the design
for the master living area. The home is functional upon all requests from the
family.
